The first decision

Building permissions, service access and the City-versus-County distinction come before the product shortlist.

Find the responsible office

The City of Miami and Miami-Dade County both provide permitting resources. First establish the authority for your exact property and proposed scope. Miami-Dade describes electrical permits as a safety requirement for electrical work; the project-specific determination belongs with the applicable department and licensed professional. Do not use a county page as blanket approval for every municipality.

An apartment purchase starts with permissions

Request the building rules before ordering. Ask about alteration approval, insurance documentation, loading areas, elevator bookings, door openings, floor support, water containment, drainage and equipment noise. A delivered tub or cabin that cannot travel through the approved route can leave you with freight and return costs.

A coastal setting needs manufacturer answers

If the equipment will be exposed to coastal air or weather, ask the seller specifically about corrosion care, approved cleaning, outdoor electrical components and warranty exclusions. We have not corrosion-tested any model. Get the answer for the exact finish and revision, not just a general statement that a range is suitable outdoors.

A workable shortlist for small spaces

Consider storage and cleanup time alongside dimensions. A portable format may reduce the cabinet footprint but still needs an approved location and a realistic routine. For a fixed sauna or plunge, include the open door, service panels and person-access space in your plan. Compare actual instructions before deciding that a balcony or terrace is suitable.
